​​Welcome, Chief Torrie James, to the Town of Hartly!​

It is with immense pride and excitement that the Hartly Town Council introduces the inaugural Chief of Police for the Town of Hartly, Torrie James. Chief James joins us with an impressive level of expertise in law enforcement, having dedicated many years to the Smyrna Police Department, where he ultimately held the position of Chief. His extensive experience and dedication to public service make him an invaluable asset to our town as we embark on this new chapter in law enforcement.  
Chief Torrie James This landmark occasion took place during our public town council meeting on August 14, 2025, where Chief James was sworn in, marking a new chapter in the town’s commitment to public safety. Community members and officials gathered to witness this historic moment, reflecting the collective hope for a safer Hartly. As Chief James assumes his role, there is great excitement about the collaborative efforts ahead to enhance safety and well-being for all residents.
